Multi-Net Features
and released to listen, and the landside party cannot be heard while talking or spoken to
while listening.
Unit Call - This is the same as a Unique ID call. It allows a call to be placed to as
specific subscriber unit. The Multi-Net Individual/Unit/Unique ID of the subscriber unit
being called is entered.
Directed Group Call - This call allows group calls to be made to groups that are not
programmed for any Multi-Net channel. This call is placed by selecting the Unit Call,
and the system determines the call type from the number of digits dialed.
Special calls are selected by and option switch or menu parameter with this radio. They are
not selected by a specific system/group as with other Multi-Net radios. To place
Telephone (Interconnect) calls, the Phone option switch and/or menu parameter is
programmed. To place Unit ID or Directed Group calls, the Unit Call option switch and/or
menu parameter is programmed.
The preceding special calls are placed by selecting a number from a pre-programmed list
or by dialing the number directly using the keypad (if applicable). Telephone and Unit
calls can be programmed on each Multi-Net system for Disabled, Response Only, or
Transmit/Receive.
Group calls are not received when the Phone or Unit Call mode is selected. The only type
of call received is a call of the same type as the selected mode (Unit or Telephone).
Receive priority and pre-emption programming continue to apply. More information
follows on these types of calls.
7.10.1 Placing A Special Call
Note Special calls cannot be placed with Radio Wide Scanning enabled (see Section 4.12.2).
To place a Telephone, Unit, and Directed Group call, proceed as follows. Refer to Section
7.10.3 for information on numbers to dial.
7.10.1.1 Recalling Number From A List
Note Proceed to Step 3 if using the keypad entry method.
To place a Telephone Call
1 Briefly press the Phone option switch (see preceding section). When the phone mode is
selected, is displayed.
Likewise, to place a Unit or Directed Group call, briefly press the Unit Call option
button or select the Priv Call menu parameter and select ID List. When the Unit call
mode is selected, Call and the ID of the last Unit call are displayed.
